Bio

Ed Brill is Managing Director and Founder, Desert Ridge Solutions.

Brill is an accomplished product leader and growth strategist in technology businesses from $40MM to $700MM in annual revenue. He led IBM’s collaboration solutions through multiple technology and business iterations including the shift from on-premises software to cloud delivery, pioneering artificial intelligence in business email, and eventual portfolio rationalization and divestiture. Brill’s IBM executive career included sales, marketing, IT, and product management roles. Subsequently, Brill focused on leadership-level product and technology growth roles in midsized technology organizations. His consistent and biggest impact was structuring people, processes, and tools to help companies scale faster and deliver increased client value.

Brill is a strong advocate of servant leadership and helped elevate employee engagement with his teams through transparency and authenticity. His effective style has been instrumental in enhancing team dynamics and in the professional advancement of over 50 individuals who have worked under his leadership, propelling them into VP or C-suite level roles.

Today, Brill provides product and corporate strategy services individually and with network partners. An experiential learner and affiliative decision maker, Brill views consulting as a natural career evolution and an opportunity for broader impact on how product management and software solutions are conceived, built, and delivered.

When not building great software, Brill believes strongly in the Latin phrase carpe diem – “Seize the day”. He is an avid traveler who has visited 71 countries, cycles 5000 miles a year on road and mountain bikes, and enjoys exploring creative regional cuisine.
