Bio

Kameisha began her writing career as a poetry competitor in middle school. Shortly after, she would become a journalist for her high school magazine by interviewing Sudanese refugees, touring Reuters’ and NBC 4 Washington newsrooms, and attending the National Democratic Convention. Experiencing a summer as a developmental intern at Viacom, Kameisha returned to her roots as a poet.

In 2010 she published her first collection of poetry. In 2014 and 2015, she released two more — one of which becoming the #1 Bestseller in African American Poetry on Amazon. Using her self-publishing skills, Kameisha acted as a freelance publisher to several authors in Washington, DC and New York City. To ensure that she was learning as much as she could prior to taking on her next big project, Kameisha got her MA in English and Creative Writing as well as her Publishing Certification.

Kameisha found her niche a year later. She founded Sovereign Noir Publications in April of 2019.
