Manouk Akopyan

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Manouk Akopyan’s passion and enthusiasm for everything sports, entertainment and writing steered him toward earning a bachelors degree in journalism from California State University, Northridge. Over the last 15 years, he's held staff positions in editorial roles for the Los Angeles Times, Tribune, NFL Media, Ayzenberg Group, Yerevan Magazine and Glendale News-Press, and his bylines and TV reporting have appeared in USA Today, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Philadelphia Inquirer, Men's Health and NESN, among various other international outlets. He's currently a broadcast reporter for Lights Out Xtreme Fighting, an MMA league that airs on FOX Sports. He also hosts a lifestyle radio show that airs on KLOS-FM 95.5 HD3 in Los Angeles, and all major audio platforms like Spotify and Apple Podcasts. His professional experience includes extensive reporting, writing, editing and production across all digital platforms, magazines, newspapers, radio as well as on-camera reporting for television. His portfolio consists of over 3,000 written stories and video interviews with global newsmakers and cultural icons, including exclusives with the likes of Mike Tyson, Shaquille O'Neal and Mark Cuban, among many others.  His international news and feature writing in combat sports over the years have earned him membership in the Boxing Writer's Association of America (BWAA) and the Mixed Martial Arts Journalists Association (MMAJA). Additionally, he's displayed his love for journalism, writing and community service by advising and mentoring UCLA's student newspaper (The Armenian Chronicles), North Hollywood High School's student newspaper (The Arcade) and the community organization Nerouj. Manouk is also a board member of the AGBU Young Circle, where his efforts were displayed in the organization's "Sports: Shaping a Nation" conference.
