Miranda Darrow is the author of the Concise Fiction Academy series of writing craft books for fiction authors. She combines her experience as a freelance editor and a corporate attorney into an executive summary of complex writing topics with an overview, key recommendations, and sources for more information, all with a dash of humor. These books offer checklists, flowcharts, and work aids to help authors implement the writing advice. This series is perfect for busy authors who want a writing resource they can read in a single afternoon.
Miranda is a RevPit online revision contest board member and volunteer contributing editor. She's a frequent presenter to writing groups including Daniel David Wallace's Find Your Readers Summit in July 2024, the Women in Publishing Summit in March 2024, The Writing Gals conference in October 2024, and a long list of hybrid and in-person writing conferences. She speaks and teaches on many topics, including: The Six-Step Revision Process: Revise Your Novel from First Draft to Final (also the title of Book 1 in her series), Gamify Your Writing: Level Up Your Productivity and Reader Engagement (upcoming book 2 in the series), Developmental Editing Concepts, Adding a Romantic Subplot to Your Novel of Any Genre, DIY Critique Group, Unputdownable Openings, and many more topics on writing and editing.
Miranda Darrow is also an award-winning author who lives in central Minnesota with her husband, teen sons, and a bossy little dog who rules the roost. She enjoys camping, boating, playing piano, and foisting her crochet projects on everyone she encounters.
