You can use a Remo session within a HeySummit event by adding its attendee link as an External URL. Attendees start from the HeySummit session page, then follow the join link to Remo. Their HeySummit registration does not automatically register them with Remo, so check access in both places before sending invitations.

This pairing is useful when you want Remo for the networking or presentation room and HeySummit as the online event platform for your schedule, registration, ticket access, speaker coordination and attendee communication. Remo also offers its own event tools. Use both when the additional event workflow helps your team.

What Remo handles

Remo provides networking and presentation modes. Attendees can move between virtual tables for conversations, while presentation mode brings the audience together for a talk. Prepare the Remo event before adding its attendee URL to HeySummit.

How to use a Remo session with HeySummit

HeySummit's guide to use Remo with a HeySummit talk documents this External URL setup:

  1. Create or prepare your event in Remo.
  2. Copy the Remo event or session's attendee URL. Use the link intended for attendees.
  3. In HeySummit, go to Content & Schedule > Sessions.
  4. Open Actions for the talk and choose Manage Session.
  5. Open Broadcast and set Broadcast Type to External URL.
  6. Paste the Remo attendee URL, then select Save and Close.

Check access separately in Remo. External URL talks do not automatically register attendees with Remo. Confirm its registration, privacy, sign-in and admission settings. HeySummit checks event registration and ticket requirements on the session page, but a direct Remo link can be shared outside those checks. Do not rely on HeySummit ticket access alone to protect the external room.

Attendee journey: two separate access checks
  1. HeySummit session page
Event registration and ticket requirements are checked here.
  2. External Remo attendee URL
The join link opens the Remo destination in a new tab or window.
  3. Remo admission
Remo's own registration, sign-in and access settings determine entry.

Conceptual flow, not a dashboard screenshot. A shared direct Remo URL bypasses the HeySummit session-page check.

For other delivery choices, explore HeySummit's video and streaming integrations. Check each provider's setup and access requirements rather than assuming every route synchronizes attendee registration.

Check the attendee journey before going live

  • Preview the saved session. Confirm that the join link opens the intended Remo event.
  • Test Remo in a private browser window. Check whether an attendee needs to register, sign in or use a particular browser. An organizer's logged-in view can hide these requirements.
  • Test an eligible HeySummit attendee. Complete registration with a ticket that permits this session, then follow the session-page join path.
  • Test a restricted attendee. Use a separate account with a ticket that should not permit the session and confirm the HeySummit restriction. Review Remo's admission rules separately for anyone who receives the direct link.
  • Check the actual reminder. Depending on event settings, reminder-style emails may lead to the HeySummit talk page or include the external join link. Preview or test your configured message and follow that exact path.

Tell attendees about any Remo registration or sign-in step before the session. Keep those instructions consistent across the session description and reminder messages.

Keep the surrounding event workflow clear

Use HeySummit for the event tasks you need around the Remo room:

  • Build the branded registration destination with the event landing page builder.
  • Give speakers a speaker dashboard to manage their profiles and session information. This is separate from joining Remo as a presenter.
  • Configure ticket access for the HeySummit sessions attendees can open.
  • Prepare attendee confirmations and reminders with custom event emails, including any separate Remo access instructions.
